Bridesmaid Duties

On top of all the other excitement going on in my life right now, I was recently asked to be a bridesmaid by my friend Lizz Miller! She is one of my good friends from college, and ex-roommate to my current roommate Ashley. Naturally she asked Ashley to be a bridesmaid as well, and we wasted no time in accepting the offer! Lizz and her fiance announced their engagement just a few short weeks ago, and she recently sent us an update with her choice for bridesmaid gowns. The wedding is set for May 2010 in Wisconsin (Lizz's hometown), and we CANNOT wait ;)

For the wedding buffs out there, I thought I would post a picture of the bridesmaid dress that Lizz picked out (sorry, can't post the wedding dress since the groom might be able to snoop!). The colors of her wedding will be red, pink, brown, and blue to go with a cherry blossom theme. Congratulations Lizz and Javier!

Birthday Festivities

So I am sad to say I have been a little lax with updating my blog this week! I must blame it somewhat on the busy yet incredibly productive visit from my parents over my birthday weekend, and then of course work has taken up most of what was left!

My parents arrived Friday evening, driving straight to my old neighbor's house who was hosting the evening and cooking dinner for us, as well as putting my parents up for the night. Saturday, my parents and I set out on our day's mission to paint my room before my dad went to North Carolina to join my brother in a golf tournament, so we went to Lowe's and picked out a rich golden color to match my bedspread and capped the evening with a declicious italian dinner with Ashley. It was soo good!! Sunday us three girls set out to spend a little birthday money (while my dad was gone) and went shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond as well as Walmart to pick out my birthday gift - a webcam! If anyone has Skype out there, I'm officially in business :)  We also ound a few cute things that we needed for the apartment, and I'm excited at how things are coming together - pictures coming soon I promise.

All in all, it was fabulous birthday and thanks to everyone for sending their love in all sorts of ways! It was truly a wonderful day.

The First Week!

Well its hard for me to believe, but the first week of my new job has already come and gone. After some observations and a couple days of training I don't think my head can fit much more, but this week will be more of the same! Over all its not as overwhelming as I imagined, and I'm sure I will continue to feel more comfortable with everything as time goes on. There is a lot of small details that simply take time to learn - insurance claims and paperwork, organizing charts, and scheduling, oye!

In other news, my parents are coming to visit this week - I'm excited that I will get to see them so soon, and on my birthday no less!! Although I have neighbors and family nearby who would happily partake in celebration, its just not the same. PLUS they're bringing some paint supplies which means I will be able to paint my room :)  The hunt continues to find a bathroom theme though, so keep an eye out for some decorating updates!

New Beginnings

Hey Everyone!

So I have started this blog to document my post college adventures. As most of you know, I am a resident of Tennessee now! And due to the miles between me and all of my family and friends, I thought this might be an easy way to keep you all up to date with the goings on in my life.

Tomorrow I start my first day at my new FULL TIME job as patient manager at Marino Therapy Centers... which leaves me feeling both anxious and excited. This was a great opportunity that was presented to me very shortly after I moved here, and I can't help but smile at how God is working in all the details. Some of you might already know that when first moving to Tennessee I worked at my old church Cedar Springs Presbyterian, and I wouldn't have been able to move with Ashley (my roommate) if I hadn't gotten that job. Shortly after arriving, I was invited to an interview at Marino Therapy Centers, then a second, eventually getting the phone call with the offer.

Though there was originally supposed to be three of us, Ashley and I are adjusting quite nicely to our new digs and happy to start making it feel like home. Although we close to no furniture yet, I have decided to post a few pics for you all to see!! An "after" picture will be posted as soon as we get some furniture and paint on the walls   :)
